New competition for March on Horse and Pony Info

It's the first day of March and certainly Spring-like here in Ireland with temperatures of 12 to 13 degrees today. Can only hope that it marks the end of an unusually mild winter. We'll have to keep an eye out for horses sweating under rugs at this rate! But what's that they say about 'March coming in like a lamb and going out like a lion'? Winter may not be over yet and my son came back from school recently muttering about snow forecast.

We were very lucky with our Facebook page last week as we somehow ended up as a Recommended Page which produced more than 500 fans. Not sure how this happened, whether it was due to Facebook itself or our followers but we're grateful. To celebrate the milestone of 10,000 FB 'Friends' we are holding a new photo competition for March 2012.

To enter, just upload an edited photo of yours or your family's and put an original horse quote on it. You will have to go to the PROMOS tab on our Facebook page to enter. First prize is a personalised photo mug and there will also be rosettes for first to sixth prize.  If you'd like to go to PROMOS and enter or view photos now, please click here.

FURminator Equine - We recently bought one of these ourselves and have found it great. It effortlessly removed loose hair and the horses really seem to enjoy being groomed with it. We even tried it out on our dog! Obviously you need to take care not to use it on parts of the body where the bone is close to the surface, such as face and legs.
